This jointer is a beefy and well built model. Sad thing is it's already been replaced with a model that has somewhat gone thru an Atkins Diet program.

Best part is though it's no longer in the market I was lucky enough to get the last piece the supplier had. Yehey for me!!!:D

Re: Torq wj200 8" jointer

Let's look at the side by side pic of the two generations of 8" jointers…

The one on the right is the new generation WJ200 8" jointer. Lighter and more compact design I think attributed to transportability and contractor type usage.

The newer model has a shorter bed but still adequate for processing long boards. The fence mechanism is situated in the infeed end. Both models sport at least 2HP powerhouses.

The newer model is dwarfed by the older generation model but I guess they are still designed to perform as closed as each other. I could say they are very different but modern machineries seemed to have taken this road recently. Models being dressed down in terms of bulk but their features and accessories seem to have grown. Incidentally, our good friend Timber715 is currently using the same model and seems to be happy with it. I too hope to be happy when i get to test this in the real world of production.
