vacuum pump availability in the phil?

hi,

i am looking for a vacuum pump for my composites production but i can't seem to find any locally available.

any ideas where i can buy this one in metro manila?

Thanks for posting this question. I am interested too. I think one source would be refrigeration equipment suppliers.

I myself built or rather have been building my own using an old air-conditioner compressor.

There is still a lot of work to be done on it and to be honest I'm not sure if it still works.

i've also thought of using a ref compressor to pull vacuum; however, my worry is the lubrication of the compressor itself. i believe that the oil circulating is not simply a lubricant alone, but a sort "cooler" as well. given the scenario that the compressor will run for several minutes w/o any recirculating oil, it would grow hot 'till a certain point of failure.

nevertheless, if all efforts fail, i might do it this way as well. do you have a sort of diagram of the pipings?

I think you are right about the oil being a concern.

i'm pretty sure he is into air conditioning repair business.

I dont know how strong you want your vacuum, but this one is using a regular car air compressor to create a vacuum pump. Check it out and see if it can help you.
