Newbie here...

Just wondering if you guys would have any suggestions where I can purchase a planer thicknesser and jointer. It seems that its a bit difficult to find a second hand unit nowadays.. (been surfing the net for quite sometime now and so far Ive just seen one interesting classified add for it)

Where is the best place to canvass this equipment? Any particular place in Binondo/Manila?

Thank you in advance for your replies. Also I've learned a lot from your site and its members 🙂 Keep up the good work!

Re: Where to buy...

There still should be some 2nd thickness planers out there. A jointer is more of a problem. I've not seen one, new or 2nd hand, priced below 10k. I think the lowest I've seen is about P20k+. I've a jointer but I had it send from the US.

Re: Where to buy...

Thanks for the reply!

I guess my search for the unit I like will still be ongoing. Many more months of waiting:)

About the thicknesser that you mentioned... I suppose this are the taiwan made machines for that price... Any experience with them with regards to build and quality

Re: Where to buy...

I was referring to a jointer ... yes the one I saw as made in Taiwan. My jointer is a Delta which is also made in Taiwan. I've no complaints though to be honest I've only used this one so I can't really make any comparison, sorry.

Re: Where to buy...

Well I don't know about "avid" though I do like to go sailing as much as I like building things. Yes, we launch from Talisay, TLYC to be exact. If you are interested visit our groups site: http://www.pinoyboats.org . Actually several of the members here are from our group.
