Re: Work. Don't Play.

Metabo WP8-115 Quick 10,000 RPM 8.0 AMP 4-1/2-Inch Non-Locking Paddle Switch Angle Grinder

This grinder is well balanced and still has an anti vibration handle that actually works.

Non locking paddle switch ... dead man style ... you take your grip off and the grinder stops

Still made in Europe

Quick Change ( no tools required to replace wheel )

Re: Work. Don't Play.

Grasp the wheel and turn it a bit counter clockwise and the nut loosens .... then just turn nut by fingers to remove or tighten. After switch off you can also wait till before the wheel stops and press the red orange button. The lock nut will loosen automatically.

lever assisted tool less guard adjustments

the most important part ..... Pferd Flap discs and PFX 0.045" cutting disk ( very thin kerf ) ... Sait grinding disc ( for evaluation )

the green one on the rightmost bottom is for stainless steel

Re: Work. Don't Play.

@jay,

great german tool again! ang laki ng switch for on and off ha! is it a plus?

i only have the bosch variable grinder and yes it is always a hassle changing cutting and abrasive wheels..planning to get another eh..should i get another bosch variable or just a single speed? do you need to have a variable speed when cutting? how about grinding? i bought the variable speed before with the sole intention of using the tool for sanding wood and not on metal use.

thanks

Re: Work. Don't Play.

Doc, it is nicer to have vs here so you can use it for wire brush at lower speed or even a buffing wheel at speed comfortable and controlable...
I also wanted a grinder before for carving work, but I haven't the chance to get me this....

Proxxon 29050 Carving Wheel with Needle Like Tungsten Carbide Teeth

@V I think one variable speed angle grinder is a must ... more is better. Depending on application constant variable speed is a very good feature to have. I just love it for cutting.

For downright grinding I prefer single speed to save on grinder cost. For touch up grinding I prefer variable speed.

I have not tried my angle grinders on wood yet. I do have a variable speed Maxell Angle sander which I use for wood but it does take off material very quickly ... sometimes hard to control as well.
