Re: 15th WoodMach Philippines - SMX

btw, i am particularly looking for a scrollsaw....tempting to buy the makita lsj401 but many reviews says its relatively light to allow some vibrations.

as usual, mayon industrial will not participate in this event.id be glad if they will.

the reasons why my list is topped by makita is simply due to the following:

1. Makita selects only the highest quality raw materials for its motor components.
•Premium-Grade Steel - used to produce armature shafts and gears, and graded to the highest industry standards
•High-Grade Magnetic Copper Wire - 97% Pure Copper for superior current flow and to withstand extreme temperatures
•Premium-Grade Magnetic Steel - ensures efficient current flow and higher output of power

2.All Makita armatures are dynamically balanced to twice the industry standard, giving Makita the finest balanced motor armature available to ensure long life with less vibration.

The field core is made from the highest quality magnetic steel available and is stamped and laminated into a tight and uniform core. The tight tolerances in the field core deliver the most efficient energy transfer and the most output power.

3. Makita has long been recognized for manufacturing the highest quality motors in the industrial power tool industry.

Over 90 years experience designing and building high performance motors.

Longest lasting and most efficient motors in the power tool industry.

Most rigorous testing of all components and finished product.

Most reliable power tools in the industry.
....hehehe..these are all excerpts from the company website.

Re: 15th WoodMach Philippines - SMX

simple lang din ang reason ko why i need to buy a reliable tool....
ayaw ko ng abala....

if i buy a cheap tool, tapos itatapon ko after a week, sayang pera...yung oras mo nasayang pagpunta sa store or elsewhere buying that cheap tool...idagdag mo na yun sa abala...

save...save...save for the better tool...me warranty pa..kahit na nga ba six months lang eh..ok na yun.

why kaya di propose ng mga lawmakers natin pag di tayo satisfied sa item, especially tools eh pede isoli...like in the US?

if you can afford, buy a second set of cheap tools for your neighbors to borrow.hehehe

and lastly, do not buy tools when you need it...

Re: 15th WoodMach Philippines - SMX

I own a couple of Makita Power Tools ranging from ( year 90's to 2010 ) Made in Japan, Europe or China. Needless to say I had been very happy with these purchases. Well balanced and durable tools.

True that these are a bit costly but it's worth it for me. Makita Power Tools are always on Top of my list whenever I could afford it. Metabo would also be a better choice but it's out of my range.

Millermatic 180 Autoset Mig Welder
Miller Spoolmate 100 Spool Gun
Victor Firepower 350 Oxy Ace Outfit
3M Speedglas 9002X AD Helmet
Makita LC1230 Dry Cut Saw
Ingersoll Rand Air Tools
Snap On Tools
Metabo Power Tools
Norseman Drill Cutting Tools
Bosch Power Tools
3M PPS

Re: 15th WoodMach Philippines - SMX

I guess i'll be the first to say...

I dont know if this show will change in the next few days but..

Don't put your hopes up on WoodMach. I saw more woodworking stuff on Worldbex before than today. Only Golden Bell showed off woodworking machinery worth looking at, but that being said, i don't think we can really afford the things they were selling anyway.

Woodmach was more(or less) just a componet for the main show which focused on manufacturing. So those interested in high precision stuff, cnc machines, laser cutters, printers, rapid prototyping machines and the like go on right ahead..but if not..then in my opinion, don't bother.

Thanks mojifor the heads up, buti na lang nasabi mo agad. even sa list of seminars wala man lang para sa woodworks.

Re: 15th WoodMach Philippines - SMX

na inis nga ako since Ernie said they saw the Ozito shop... anak ng putik, hinanap ko ng hinanap until I was tired... :p
buti na lang Moji got the chance to find a piece of tanguille na sobrang kulot... 😮

Doc V. I suggest you look up the Dewalt scrollsaw, highly praised by scrollsawers worldwide as the value for money tool. I am happy with what I have (SJ401 Makita) and making a cabinet underneath to add weight solves most of the vibration problems. but given the budget, I would happily upgrade to the yellow tool...

Re: 15th WoodMach Philippines - SMX

Could it be that Woodmach is really on another day? I just find it hard to believe that they would go through all that trouble just for one exhibitor to represent the woodworking part of the convention..

Re: 15th WoodMach Philippines - SMX

I was at SMX yesterday too, and only Golden Bell had woodworking machinery on demo and display. Just like Moji said, just big items like the equipment we saw being used at Hafele two months ago, since this trade show focuses on manufacturing. Golden Bell had a handful (maybe 8 or so) of router bits for sale at Php500 and up.

There's a booth where there were some Ozito items. There were a couple of drills and a compound miter saw there.

Another booth had hole saw kits. Not for wood or furniture making but for cutting through steel. Although the guy did show me a piece of wood that was holesawed through.

If anyone plans to buy anything there, I was told you have to wait until the last day to do so.

I felt bad for having wasted my afternoon. And for having arrived early. I wasn't just looking, but checking to make sure I didn't miss some secret passageway or trap door that led to the "real" WoodMach. :p

I too am also wondering whether Woodmach is really just on another day. Was it like this last year?
