the materials... recycled pine for container liners from Switzerland 😯

after flattening two sides side we proceeded to gluing the legs...

one done 3 more to go...

now while waiting for glue to dry, we start on the feet and the top stretcher. cut to length.

Re: A new workbench build...

Aha, a third (and bigger) workbench?

I love the grain of paine/palochina. How did you dry them?

Are you using them also for the benchtop? And, if you are, wouldn't they be too soft?

yes, hopefully we have enough pine to cover the whole project. the wb isn't mine, it is for my student and I am merely guiding him. Pine is both soft and hard depending on species and this one is on the hard side but still not hard enough. there are two school of thoughts for wb tops. some like it soft so it won't damage the project and some like it hard so it last long. there isn't any right or wrong, just a choice.... or what you have on hand:dishwash:

Re: A new workbench build...

Just thinking out loud .... How come most of the wood work benches I see are built w/o casters? Is it just me or am I missing something here?

Thanks

Re: A new workbench build...

Bro Jay, hindi pwedeng lagyan ng wheel castesr yan kasi pag nag katam ng wood stock, pag tulak mo ng katam, iiwanan ka ng work bench, LOL LOL.

If them casters are locked and secured, still there will be some movements maybe from side to side or forward and backwards. Well that is how I would envision it.
