Hello!
Just came from wilcon and purchased wood for a 6ft X 4 ft X 70cm depth cabinet for my sister's clothes. She wants it simple. Two hanger rods. one on top and one below.
I (without proper planning and thinking) just gung ho bought 2x2 wood, a few 1/4 plyboard and 1/2 plyboard, and a few 1x3s for the doors.
Based on my first mortise and tenon joints for my dining table before, the joints wern't perfect. I'm hesitant to attempt it again without a router or that mortise and tenon jig i once saw on youtube.
Any advice on what other joints i could do for the skeleton of the cabinet? Will butt joints work with the daily open and closing of the cabinet?
I also asked my uncle to balikbayan a kreg master jig. Should be here soon. I dont know if it will work on 2x2s or how to approach it to use it in this project.
Any ideas guys?
Thanks!
Drew
Re: Advice for first cabinet build
How are you going to cut the wood?
Kreg will work but you need to have the proper lenght screws.
