Re: Another Audio Bench...

i like the way how u used double sided tapes on four pieces of 3/4 blocks to outline the actual dimension of the tenon to be fitted in. Thats just GENIUS! 🙂

new day, new project...
started by choosing the materials and marking the cut off lines...

cut them to rough dimensions.

then power planning one side to get a flat surface.

once all were flattened on one side, it goes to the thicknesser. here it gets a parallel side and

flattened on both sides.

with a no.7 handplane, I jointed one side making sure it is square to the sides.

the other side gets squared on the tablesaw...
choose the most matching boards and marked them...

Re: Another Audio Bench...

with the no.7 handplane, the pieces to be jointed gets worked on. then glued together.

removed excess glue and kept clamped for at least two hours.

with the glue 80% dry, I start to clean the piece... with 3 handplanes and a card scraper the board came out very smooth and flat... no sandpaper was used up to this point 😀

two more of these still to follow, but that comes tomorrow...

Wow!

That's one solid audio bench. You really don't skimp on the wood ha.

Did you put dowels or biscuits?

Re: Another Audio Bench...

Seryoso yung tanong ko. :p

Do you have to wet the wood before gluing? Parang semento na binabasa muna yung luma para kumapit yung bago?

Re: Another Audio Bench...

He-he. I have a similar spray bottle in my shop but it contains vinegar.

Vinegar is what I use for cleanup of epoxy on tools, clamps, and hands. I also spray vinegar on my boat jig so the dogs won't pee on them.

Would you happen to notice if this also work for cats? What's your mix ratio of vinegar to water?
