@all,

i made this thin rip jig months ago before i modded the 4100 left extension wing.

i am too shy to post it in Ryobi's "brilliant idea" thread either.

anyway, this project came out of necessity when i was edge banding some mdf boards months ago..and as much as possible i did not want to make use of plastic pvc edging for the melamine boards..luckily i have some "white" lumber (beech like color) to match them.

was lazy to go to a bearing store and thenl i saw the accessory edge guide of the bosch GMR1 router lying around..but since the advent of bearing guided router bits, there was no way that the accessory will find work in the woodshop 🙁

i removed the roller guide of the accessory and attached it to a piece of wood (with recesses made from the router table using 1/8" straight bit..sorry no wips of this process)

here is the finished jig..i had to add a few inches of wood via pocket hole so i can clamp it to the newly added extension wing on the left side of the table saw.

Re: another member's home made thin rip jig

now to adjust the thickness of the strips..i glued a piece of flat steel tape with a double sided tape..

i just needed around 1/8" most of the time so the slot i made on the wood is barely beyond this thickness.

the miter assembly by the way is an extra from the kreg featherboard...

Re: another member's home made thin rip jig

the jig in action...the blade elevated just to make a contrast but while working, the carbides were just a few mm above the material.
