Re: arts and craft style sofa ( morris chair longer version )

after the glue had dried up, i have managed to round off the corners with the used of my fixed base router, my first router actually, ina-amag na, madalang gamitin.
i used my shopmade router plate (acrylic plastic ) as my pattern on each corners.

a very noisy router !!! now i took docV's advice, using a tripod.

now i have a rounded corners.

test fit the frame.

better to make a test fitting, to avoid hard to do adjustment.

webbing of nylon straps across the frame's opening.

to create a strong and comfortable base for the seat cushion.

then cut the foam to it's final dimension.

this is the foam i used, galing ng divisoria, this is a swiss foam brand

i used an ordinary kitchen knife in cutting the foam, don't know of other means or ways of cutting the foam.

@jonathan,

is that a tramontina knife? there is no better way than what you just did..cheaply.

(pedeng pede ka na mag commissioned works...mastery in morris furnitures!)

sino kaya ang kokopya ng greene and greene joineries..hehe

i want mine in real leather..

i just watched how they made a bentley in National geographic channel.

i said wow! long lasting marriage between painstaking manual jobs and high end robotics...from woodwork, upholstery, painting and motor works! all workers are of course britons and not a single foreigner in that facility.

ok will watch the final leg of this project..keep on posting..ill save the champagne.

it is not tramontina, imitation lang ata, sa tyange lang namin nabili...
sinubukan ko lang yung knife, and it turns out fine,
i've tried utility knife, even saw, pangit ang cut....

greene and greene ? wwhhooowww, those are one the best amongst the arts and crafts i've ever seen, those fine details, curves, and the works trademarks of the greene end greene...
how i wish i can reach those kind of craftsmanship...

bagay ba chicharon sa champaigne ??? :thirsty:

thanks docV....

Re: arts and craft style sofa ( morris chair longer version )

it's upholstery time,

in doing so, you don't need mastery of this procedures, all you need is patience,
full stretching of the fabric is the key, i believe everybody can do this.
stapler lang ok na...

started with the first layer of fiber fill ( 1 inch thick ) to make the fabric more softer...

cut to size...

then fasten it with a stapler....

Re: arts and craft style sofa ( morris chair longer version )

then wrap it over with the fabric,
i used the same color and type of fabric from the previous morris chair project.
it is only synthetic, hindi ko kaya ang true leather baka mapamahal, maunsiami lang, hehehe...
