your narex chisels are waiting for you here at home brader, sure you can drop by the shop to make your curved cuts, so much easier on the bs and less waste for your router bit to remove.
as for an eb dyan sa inyo, let us wait for others to chime in so we can make the visit este inspection...

I believe you ca start the finishing process on the lower parts brader, when everything is complete, yung visible portions na lang gagawin mo... Nice work as always. keep it up...

ok thanks, i'll send you a message if ever we have time to drop by there at your home, maybe this week.

and yes i'll take your advice on the fnishing procedures.

kumukuha lang din ako ng buelo sa finishing, :dog:

ito kasi ang kinakaiwas iwasan kong procedures...

but no one can't avoid this procedures, this is where you add beauty to your project...

since you are using hardwood, you can try using linseed oil lang. You have scraps to try it on naman, drawback lang ang drying time dahil matagal matuyo ng husto...

Good progress Jon, I just hope that you could also create a jig that could help you in routing small or thin pieces. It makes me cringe looking at your hands routing very close to the bit.

Re: arts and craft style sofa ( morris chair longer version )

thanks timb, but i already have the color, i'm going to use the same color i used with the previous morris project. it's ace stain dark walnut.

what i up into right now, is to fill those holes, cracks, knots and tear outs that have escaped my eyes during the previous fillings...
malabo na nga mata..:glassesf:
another smooth sanding on the way pa. wanted the arm to be smooth, may natira pang konting imperfections...
thanks timb again, the workpiece is still big enough to handle.
i would'nt rout it,if i cannot handle the workpiece.

your right jarod, those cringing feelings still haunts me right at this moment...:nerves::nerves:
nakakatakot talaga mag-rout, especially pattern cutting in the rt.
that's why i choose to have those extra long router bits, they are good for those kind of job,
like pattern cutting.
the pattern template gives you an added safety when routing.
and do climb-cutting, it reduces tear-out to the minimum.
i may say that as much as possible, avoid hardwoods when routing small or thin pieces.
with sharp bits and softwoods, it is very fine to rout, and of course with the proper jig for the type of cuts...
thanks jarod...

Re: arts and craft style sofa ( morris chair longer version )

here's an update...

stained my project with a dark walnut...

after drying, brushed it with a sanding sealer...

i'm planning to put 2 coats of sealers...

would 1 coat be fine ?

"ace stain", same with sanding sealers and polyurethane...

all are recommended by master timber, and the results are very excellent,
as compare to the many brands of stains and poly that i've used...

konti lang pics, finishing na kasi...:lalala:

one coat of sealer will do fine Jon, just make sure thoroughly dry yung stain. I would leave it for at least two to three days to make sure na dry sya before I normally apply a seal over stain. Before kasi, I noticed na the stain sweats out of the sealer kung hindi pa dry.
Then apply the topcoat na....

perfect....na dry ko na yung stains for 3 days, before i apply the sealer...

and i'm planning to apply a 2nd coat...

buti nalang...

thanks very much, nabawasan ang trabaho ko...:diver:

i'll scuff sand nalang and fire away the top coat...

:thanks::thanks::thanks:

Re: arts and craft style sofa ( morris chair longer version )

yea doc that should be the case...

but my kid got hospitalized, this weekend, suspicion of a dengue fever...

all our neighbors got sick with this devil mosquito...:diablo:

one got a blood transfusion last week...

kaya ayun, tinititigan ko na lang muna projects ko...di ko pa nga na scuff-sand yung first coat ng sealer.

so far so good pa naman results, i see to it na kuha nya perfectly yung unang shade.

pero yung finish nya, still looks fresh...

the "ace" brand of poly is a very durable topcoat finish.

gustong gusto ko na nga syang matapos, inip na rin ako...

sige update ko na lang project ko as soon as my little angel get's well...

please pray for her...

thanks V...
