Re: Bed Frame WIP
@timber,
that is a rather wide bed frame! anung size ba ng mattress yan?
i am rooted to place the support bar on the cross section rather on the longitudinal.
on my list is a futon bed frame.my prob is wood and metal fixtures.

Re: Bed Frame WIP
@Timb.I may agree with Violane. I redesigned mine and will place 2 lateral support of 2x3s. If you will be using slats for matress support, it might hold up also. Depends on how much activity will happen on the bed also I think. :p

Re: Bed Frame WIP
Thanks for the advise, this will house a king size mattress, the design allows a queen size pull out underneath, hence the design and size. No room for center supports.

Re: Bed Frame WIP
Here is my finishing schedule, feel free to correct me:
1. Several coats of shellac, sanding (hand and ROS) up to 220 grit in between coats.
2. Konig oil stain.
I want to increase shade a little, my options:
-------------------
3a. More oil stain
3b. Sand, then oil stain
3c. Shellac, sand, oil stain.
-----
4. Sand
5. Shellac
6. Poly, maybe wipe-on.
Comments, suggestion?

Konig Red Mahogany.
if you already have it, I suggest you try a story-stick for finishing on scraps first and see if you like the final color... :eathis:

That's what I'm doing now. Initial results seems to like like the color of your box.
