Hello All ! Firstly I've only cut wood a few times, hence my inability to do a basic straight cut with a hand saw. I feel more comfortable cutting steel with a hacksaw. I did try practicing the actual cut I needed to do several times, and failed miserably e.g. a crooked cut. Ok, I need to do a (approximately) 10 degree cut across a length of 1.5 x 1.5 inch wood. So using a protractor, I position 0 degrees along the length of the 1.5 x 1.5, and draw a 10 degree line across the 1.5 x 1.5 (about 12 inches long). This is for a wooden tripod that I am making for my astronomy scope and mounting (which weighs a total of about 20 lbs). I am using wood due to its reputedly somewhat better vibration damping properties. Also it is important to have the tripod level. I mentioned all this because I need (ideally) a good clean enough (for wood) cut. I have been to 4 small woodwork places in my area, and they say that they don't have the proper equipment to achieve this angle and a clean cut. They say they would just use a standard hand saw. So my question is, can they make a fairly clean and accurate enough cut (anywhere from 9 to 11 degrees is ok) ? Or should i look for a shop withe right tools ? Exactly what tool could be used to accomplish this ? Thanks ! Patrick

I would recommend that you pay attention to the Dremel 4000 toolkit https://drilling-it.com/dremel-4000-vs-dremel-4300/ . This rotating tool is suitable for any master, this tool can perform almost everything you need. It is an electronic tool with a rotating tip that allows you to perform precise work, such as etching, carving or engraving various types of materials.
