Starting my workbench:

Nothing definite, but here is an initial sketchup, still learning the ropes on sketchup.

Round Dog holes
Front and tail vise
Benchtop laminated 2x3
Apron size: 2x5's
Estimate final size 24"x48", height 33"

Dumb mistakes will always be dumb mistakes, unless . . . . you learn from it, and then it will be learning experience.

a. legs
b. Front bench vise
c. tail screw vise
d apron

in which order should I install them?
TIA

position the vise location first and mark it, that way you know the leg locations. I would install the tail vise at this juncture. then make the legs and when everything is mounted, that is when you instal the apron.

Re: Bigfoot workbench

nice, perfect yang spacer blocks mo for the vise, hopefully you got 1/2" lag bolts with enough bite, kung sobra spacers or washers lang katapat nyan...
pwede rin if you have adequate space, you can install the vise opposite side of the dog holes para magamit mo lahat ng dogs mo...

Re: Bigfoot workbench

Yeah, at this setup, minimum of 3 dog holes will be unusable.

depende how you use your wb Fort, Maple is something I have always wanted for my wb top kaya lang mahal. Tanguille will work fine, mahogany is too soft though others like a soft top, for me ayoko...

Re: Bigfoot workbench

21st century WB? post ka naman ng pic! hehe

id recommend gmelina for your table top nalang..maputi pa..

ideally kasi maple ginagamit nila para maputi yung top..para nagle-lay out ka ng project mo using dark woods eh kitang kita mo ang itsura...contrast ika nga.

@bigfoot,

looking good..yung front vise ko eh hindi flushed sa apron..namali ako ng design.
much better kung flushed yung rear jaw.

how enjoyable siguro pag pinapawisan ka na pag handplane ng wb top mo.

cge watch mode lang kame dito..

cheers!
