Hi,
Mga masters, can you please recommend a good school/workshop for basic woodworking? Matagal ko NA gustong pasukin to, lalo ako nainspire sa mga work nyo 🙂
Please recommend, somewhere PARANAQUE area sana.
TIA!

Re: carpentry/woodwork school
@metaldog and neo,
most of us here are self taught.
if you can use the tape measure to boot on, then try cutting what you measured using your grandfather's hand saw...
i started myself buying a handsaw, clawhammer, a few chisels and a hand drill...
bought woodworking magazines to enrich me...
and from there...i realized the tools for woodworking are endless
but you dont have to buy them all to make some functioning desk or a chair.
maswerte nga kayo meron nang internet..

Re: carpentry/woodwork school
^yeah the secret to being a good carpenter is to know how to measure precisely, and cut that measured piece with precision pa din, the rest follows. So practice na magsukat ng magsukat 😉

Re: carpentry/woodwork school
thanks violaine and ricky, nakakainspire mga DIY projects dito sa PHM.
Maalala ko pala, 1st job ko after college ay sa isang woodworking company sa marikina. Nag two months din ako sa company na iyon, mostly doing woodcrafts for export, most materials are MDF.
There, i learned to use some tools like yun caliper at table saw.
Re: carpentry/woodwork school
O ayan bro, your not new to the craft naman pala. From there just READ and WATCH as much as you can then once you have the time and money you can start practicing na. And also try to spend time dito sa community natin, you may not realize it but most of our brothers here are genius at what they do even if it's not their day job. 😉

Salamat, Sir. 🙂
One of the first projects I've done before was for my kid brother who were staying in Caloocan as he was studying, and he needed a study table with shelves and drawers. We had leftover wood materials then here in the south. Sayang naman. I cut the parts. I commuted 3x to bring them to Caloocan and assembled it there. Now I realized, the pieces were like the knock down furniture available in dept stores. Kasi parang flat packaging ang ginawa ko. It was not great looking like your masterpieces here, but it was functional. Pinamana na nya ngayon sa isang nephew.
🙂
Re: carpentry/woodwork school
I love to learn woodworking too but the problem is, I don't have contacts.
gusto ko sana mag-apprentice...
Re: carpentry/woodwork school
i wonder what could be the initial work for an apprentice to a masterwoodworker like Timber?

I'm not still so sure about how can in corporate this to my workings. I need this so that I can have an idea about the smallest things on https://www.australian-writings.net/ and this is how it seems that people are not interested in it anymore. They need to implement some other way asap and it's going to be the last thing for all of us to enjoy and to owrk on it asap.
