Been ripping plywoods lately and everytime i put my DIY tracksaw on the plywood i struggle working with it due to the unstable position of the CS on the tracksaw jig. So I came up with this plan to ease the job and with better accuracy. This will also eliminate measuring and pencil marking on the plywood. The jig may seem to be a little bit heavy but not on the pocket. It can cut the whole length of the plywood without adding an extension and has maximum cutting width of 24", half of the plywood's 4 feet width.

.

.

The under support is optional only but it can be useful to hold the plywood being cut.

Will post the actual jig once it has been done.

Re: Circular Saw Rip Jig

Minimum cutting width is 1/8 of an inch.

Re: Circular Saw Rip Jig

Interesting contraption, Armand.

How do you use it? How does the workpiece get clamped?

I can imagine the right side (the "cutoff") will be clamped to your workbench. The left side the left side, however, is a puzzle to me. Do you clamp it on the far end, make the cut halfway, clamp the near end, remove the clamp on the far end, then finish the cut?

@joey81:

In my current setup, I put aluminum rectangular tubings under the plywood. I have an extra long workbench made of plywood in my garage purposely built for ripping plywood. I may use the same set up once this jig is completed. like this:

Re: Circular Saw Rip Jig

I finally finished this jig yesterday and utilized right away to its actual job by ripping plywoods for my 3rd shoe cabinet project. It made those cuts very fast and very accurate on the measurements, it cut the set-up time between rips to half and made the job very easy. With this jig, it gears my shop for production set up, but the working space is not.

I did not include the bottom part of the plan coz it was unnecessary..

so i updated the 3D plan too to match the actual jig.

other pics of the jig..on top of Chin.

I'll post a video of this jig in action when there's a chance.

Anytime jaevons pwedeng gayahin though original idea yan...wala pa akong nakita na kapareho sa internet except the Kreg Rip-Cut na same ang function but pricey.

Need to buy a new circular saw this weekend and make another jig, nasa Batangas na kasi ngayon yan at dun pinakikinabangan ng brother ko (hiniram at alam ko malabo ng bumalik)

Its working.
