I am looking for ideas how to better organize cables in a conference or work table. Usually, the table becomes a rat's nest of cables, e.g., laptop AC adapters and their power cables, wired Ethernet, video from laptops to KVM switch to projector, conference phone with wired mics, power strips all over the place, etc. (Thankfully, printers or scanners usually don't have to be on a conference table.)
I got some ideas from this website
http://www.smartdesks.com/computer-cable-connection-connector-box.asp
but these are commercial products and probably very expensive, if even available locally.
Anyone DIY anything like this before or have suggestions?
Re: Conference/work table cable management
The best way I found to organize cables is to go wireless as much as I can. In cases where it's not possible I would always customize my cables and make sure that I don't use any additional length unnecessary to pull the job.

there is something in the local market that can be used...
commonly used for the floor but should also work. you can configure the sockets and I think there are several options to choose from like rj45 sockets, and power options. cost about 3K bare.
