Re: DIY Wood Kiln - dryer

good am sir willyfernando

i was told then by my wife's friend, couples benjie reyes and his wife that there is a better and faster way to dry cut bamboos to be used for furnitures, and i think its through steaming inside a makeshift big drum cut in half, anyway maybe a copy of the old journal can explain it better for me so i can understand and visualize it much better. :p

Hope you don't mind if its not so much bother to you, how can i get a copy of your old journal.

Thank you very much and regards too. :thanks:

hi rosy, pm sent.:)

Hi josephm,

I'm sorry for the late reply on your query. As you know, the most important thing is that the wood you plan to use for furniture builds are Kiln dried. If you have continuous use as i do then building a dryer is a more economical and effective way of achieving production quality wood. As per current estimates, a dryer in the size I built cost around 1.5M to 2M per chamber. Mine costs around 1/3 of that as per my last estimate. I am now in the process of building a 40 footer capacity chamber. It will cook around 16,000 to 20,000 board feet of wood per 15 days when operational.
