i'm currently in the finishing stage before assembly
stained it with sadolin walnut
can i use polyurethane as a top coat over the stain? i might use konig interior poly.

those end tables are one on my project line up...:bokmal:
planning to build 2 or more, kaya lang matagal pa,
baka abutan pa ng another rainy season ( next year )
the inspiration was very nice, through tenons and dowel pins,
gusto ko matuto ng ganyang work...
pls pakilakihan ang pics malabo na kasi ang mata ko....:glassesf:

i'm not using the same joinery as the one in the pic. simple butt joints lang using glue and pocket hole using kreg. hindi pa kasi ako marunong gumawa ng mortise and tenons. sana i can make it close to the inspiration

I'm not big on Konig, but any poly should work fine over stain...

another question. what grit should i use when sanding before the poly? can i do it without sanding cuz i want to keep the wood dark. thanks for the help

if youu raised the grain prior to staining you can get away without sanding. Best check the stained pieces for roughness first. if it passes your standard then you can poly without sanding. must you sand, be careful with the edges, often this gets sanded much faster than the rest and reveals the wood beneath the stain, in which case a quick dab of stain will work best. Then poly:burn:

OT: so you finally bought the CHIN 10" table saw.
yup, i need it to rip 1 inch wood which i cant do with my circular saw. i haven't aligned the blade to the miter slot yet. tamad pa ako. what i did was align the rip fence to the blade so i can use it na.

i got it from malabon. xmart corp. i need to find new blades though but i cant find one. do you have spare for yours?

just an update. i was going to use reclaimed wood for the legs but when applied finish on it, its shade is different from the table top. so i decided to buy more wood. its rough lumber so i had to dimension it. from the picture, you can see a sample of the rough lumber on the left. i used the table saw and thicknesser
