Re: handcrafted cues

very nice looking cues..though you failed to show the tip or a whole piece of the cue. How did you make those cues, what tools were used?

I buy my cues at StarPaper.

Btw..welcome to PHM

Re: handcrafted cues

h rosy....

if the materials are complete...design has been finalized...then a good 3 weeks will be spent on building...a month for a very special one...we do have restdays too not on the weekend though but at night...

every single night we play the cues for evaluation...in pool there is this thing that we call the the hit..its a thing you can achieve thru very good wood, very good bulid, hardness of the shaft, the balance etc and the tip is also important...after achievement of these then cues are ready for the market...

cuemaking without cnc is an art some say...and i believe it coz the inlays alone with the sharp points, the veneers and the hardwork going thru it is just amazing...

Re: handcrafted cues

hope you can post builds here, do you use the same process for the shafts like the Predators?

@ redfurry,

Bbo ron, thanks for the information and enlightenment, had no such idea of that procedure, mabusisi pala talaga ang pag gawa ng mga cues.

Best of luck on your business and many thanks again.

Re: handcrafted cues

hi sir timber...

our shafts right now are bulit solid then a 6 inch hole is drilled at the topend part to achieve lightness of that part making it different hitting than the ordinary solid shafts, preds also has this on, much specially they take 10 pcs of selected maple then put like this:

http://www.dominiakcues.com/dominator.php -- click on the pic to enlarge..

mezz cues has a diff approach though...they put in a carbon graphite rod inside about 3/4 lenght of the shaft then again a drilled hole in the topend..

meucci also has this diff again..putting on top of one another thin maple sheets then turning it to a round...different hits for diff tech shafts...

we dont have the meucci style shaft though, the carbon inserts i have like 7 pcs more in my stocks very old stocks turning 7 yrs old...will be turning it for special orders in the future...

edwin reyes (r.i.p.) has made his er240 shaft...240 sheets of thin maple veneers put together like that of the predator/dominator then turned...last week i had one in my shop for repair..my partner dindo perez used to work for him and is one of the few people capable of repairing/making shafts like that...an edwin reyes dealer in japan only seeks dindo for repair/refinish/rebuild of their edwin reyes products sold in japan...he doesnt want it to be touched other than dindo...

our filipino pro player antonio nickoy lining also went to our shop last week and have a couple of cues to be made...he is now in the US for the tournament...good luck to him ...too bad efren, django, dennis orcullo couldnt make it there...

@ rosy...

mabusisi po talaga pag wala kang checklist...kasi minsan 6 cues at a time is ordered...others come in for repair/refinish....i guess were just lucky guests does not want their cues overnight...sabi nila its the waiting that satisfies them seeing the cues slowly take shape (foor customers abroad gradual step pics are sent)..then they are happy...much happier when it arrives in their hands and then playing with it slowly knowing their cues until its like a part of them everytime they play...like me i have a personal cue...i really cant play w/o it...we do have many cues available for play in the shop but still i seek for my cue..the feel of it in my hands is somewhat diff than the others...ahh...maybe it all happens to all of us..having our favorites...

thanks much and regards,

ron

Re: new cue on display

Hi there redfurry,

Those are very nice cues and really well made. Why not post your cues for sale sa classified ads section para laging nakikita diba. I think this thread is not the proper forum to market your fantastic cues, tip lang brad, bulong ko sa iyo ha *#@& kasi baka magalit o ma reprimand ka ni admin, ssshhh wag masyadong malakas, he he he he, baka marinig ng iba ! ay mabasa pala, ehe he he he
