Hi guys just asking for a bit of help since this will be my first DIY project. Long story short, I have a very small room and I have a bed that I want to turn into a loft bed.
The matter of raising it to the height that I want is not the problem, but the materials that I need and its cost are the ones bothering me. The bed's about 6.7 ft and I want to raise to about 5 ft. Any kind of help will be much appreciated, but it would be better if someone who actually did something similar gave a rough estimate of how much it will cost me and the materials and the type that I would need for this project. Thanks!

@ nitroxxx99, in order to maximize the use of the space, you can design the bottom part of the loft bed to be a work area by incorporating a table in it. or you can also just put a small sofa under the bed for reading or watching TV 🙂 ... cheers

Boo!

Sir Boo that's exactly what I have in mind as I have a spare desk that I can't use because of the minimal space in my room 🙂 My only concern is what type of wood will I use for the posts and the frame itself because I already have a bed and the only thing that's keeping me from proceeding with my project is the materials that I will need, especially the type and cut of wood + the cost 🙂 Thanks for the help though 🙂

for rough estimate, i think you need around 2.5K pesos for the wood. I suggest you should build the bed as a whole for added rigidness.
