Good day sirs!
I'm planning and conceptualizing my first home project. (I have zero experience by the way.)
What is the best way to hook or support a hanging shelf/ box onto a concrete wall? Cleats?
Is there a way to do it and make it look like it floats if the boxes have no plyborad backing?
I'm planning to make open boxes (4pices arranged 3 above and one directly connected under the left up box so it looks modern and like Lego) like a gun formation.
14in x 14 x 14.
Planning to use 3/4 marine plywood, i'd like to sand seal, varnish, then top coat.
Planning to use glue and wood screws, and butt joints (zero experience in joinery)
Thanks!
Re: How do you attach a hanging group of boxes to a wall?
Similar to this?
This one's a quickie. I just had a long strip of hardwood running the length of the box at the top and bottom. Those strips, when screwed onto the wall with tox, act as a ledge for the box to rest on. So that the box would not slip off, I attached the strips to the box with dowels.
I'm sure there are other ways of doing this with more specialized hardware but I did this with whatever I had onhand.

You may also try to search the hafele brochure for panel mounting systems: http://www.hafele.com.ph/ph/en/documents/11_Shopfitting_Systems_Wall_and_Floor_Systems.pdf

Re: How do you attach a hanging group of boxes to a wall?
Thanks sirs balarila camv and joey.
I might do backings in the boxes to hide the cleats.
Sir balarila are those long strips 2x2s? Nice box i was thinking I'd paint them black as well if its less expensive than going the stain route.
Thanks again!

I used thin strips: 1x1 if I recall or slightly thinner. I had them run the entire length of the box and it would carry light load only so should be strong enough.
Staining is not that expensive. I used the penetrating wood stain, Boysen IIRC.

Thanks sir Balarila! Done with this. Planning and researching on making a dining table with tempered glass top and wooden legs. Figuring out the best way to put them all together.
