Re: Kitchen cabinet
Master ryobi-wan, tama ba yung pagka-intindi ko?
1. glazing putty on bare plywood
2. and then spray automotive acrylic paint
or meron pang intermediate step?

After the putty you need to sand it yata muna hehehe then primer then yung paint then top coat. Sample muna sa cabinet bago tirahin yung kotse hahaha

Sanding! Oo nga pala. Hehehe.
Gusto kong paint yung chameleon. Yung nagbabago ang kulay depende sa angle ng ilaw. 😀

Or should it be primer -> glazing putty -> sand -> top coat?
Also, the only glazin putty I know is Boysen which is alkyd/oil based, not sure if that will be fine with auto lacquer in the long run.
A lacquer spot putty will be a good match with auto lacquer instead.

From [COLOR="Blue"]Boysen website:
SURFACE PREPARATION:
1. Use only kiln dried wood.
2. Countersink nail heads for putty application.
3. Sand rough wood until smooth, then dust off before painting.
4. Surface to be painted should be clean and dry, free from dust, dirt and other foreign matter.
PAINTING SCHEDULE:
1st coat : Boysen® Lacquer Primer Surfacer #305
Putty : Boysen® Lacquer Spot Putty #306
2nd coat : Boysen® Lacquer Primer Surfacer #305 on puttied areas
Final coat : Boysen® Automotive Lacquer #1300 (in required number of coats)
(Note: Add Boysen® Lacquer Flo #1205 to final coat at approximately 10% by volume as a retardant to prevent moisture blushing.)

Yes, I saw that, too. But Master ryobi-wan's method is (or appears to be) different (read: matipid) and I'd like to know more about it.
Sometimes kasi you can opt not to follow the manufacturer's instruction and still get the desired results. And I'll be practicing on the mobile base for the Chin TS, so its safe try out unorthodox methods. :p

Tingin ko pwede naman kaya lang the adhesion may be not that strong as lacquer paint and oil putty is combined.
Patingin muna kami ng before pics ng TS+stand

@ joey81,
Bro, if that is how your TS stand will look when it is fully assembled, then you've got a very useful and so practical TS stand, and daming compartments na malalagyan ng gamit. Lagyan mo lang ng doors ang two lower compartments so that tools inside may not get too dusty.
VERY NICE CONCEPT for your TABLE SAW, so what if it is a chin ts, what is important is that it will serve and perform its functions properly. :2thumbsup:
CHEERS and enjoy working on your TS stand/cabinets project. :bounceD: :massbounce:

Re: Kitchen cabinet
sir Ryobi ,
pag sanding po ng plywood ,ano po grit na gagamitin ?
bale po 2 coats of glazing putty sya with sanding in between?then automotive paint na?
ano po ba ideal na ratio ng paint sa thinner?ano po yun spary gun tip na gamit nyo?hehehehe curious na newbie lang po 🙂
Re: Kitchen cabinet
@joey
are you using a dust collector with the TS? Kasi kung hindi, or kahit nga meron, you might want to surround the base of the TS itself, hinged if needed to access knobs and levers. That way you have less sawdust problems.

Surrounding the table saw housing will only have minimal effect because the main point of entry for saw dusts is through the opening of the insert plate. If permissible, a zero clearance insert and an effective saw dust collection is the way to go. Housing will impede noise but will cut out ventilation for the table saw as well.

grit 100 para sa plywoodbale po 2 coats of glazing putty sya with sanding in between?then automotive paint na?
yap 1st coat let it dry and then 2nd coat ng putty pag dry na sanding na i used 150 grit para smooth pag di ka pa satisfy apply ulit ng putty is up to you na and then spray paintano po ba ideal na ratio ng paint sa thinner?ano po yun spary gun tip na gamit nyo?hehehehe curious na newbie lang po 🙂
ang ideal ratio na ginagawa ko is 1/4 paint 3/4 ung thinner ... pag mataas ang automotive paint kaysa sa thinner pangit ang buga magaspang i use gravety type spray paint
@adzz
see in blue front repply thanks
:goodluck: hehehe
Re: Kitchen cabinet
additional question puwde ba lacquer flo na lang instead of lacquer thinner? if yes 3-4 rin ba yung ratio?
