Prolly just make quick, small and inexpensive project to keep the shop flowing. Make small projects for each tool you have so it gets to be used every now and then.

Or ipahiram mo muna sa kin :p

Re: lazy sunday, did some "spring" cleaning

Finally decided that tonight is the night i will make dog holes for my workbench!!!

i apologize for my crappy camera that cant handle low light. Please bear with me

So ... i will be replacing a strip of the double plywood top with this teak... then put dog holes in it.

So prep the straight guide and start cutting away with the CS

after the plywood is detached the teak is substituted. It is proud by around 4mm

So i decided to finally USE my stanley no 4 (after 10 months of sitting there)

Re: lazy sunday, did some "spring" cleaning

calibrated the platform of the drill press so when i drill.. The dog hole will be 5 degrees slant

ohhh yeah... The teak is still not flush with the table there is still about 2mm

This is the first REAL time i used a handplane... my triceps hurt and my shoulders are about to give.... The blade isnt even masterfully sharpened ( i did sharpen it twice during this gruelling ordeal)

Re: lazy sunday, did some "spring" cleaning

finally

a better pic... i think my workbench top is due for some heavy duty sanding.

had a hard maple sitting around. This replaced the metal dog the vise came with

Re: lazy sunday, did some "spring" cleaning

I was making a bunch of keepsake boxes (for gifts) copied from Marc Spagnoulo of the Wooswhisperer (you guys should google the video!) last week. I also brought a box sa EB that some of you saw.

http://thewoodwhisperer.com/oh-for-keepsake/

found out that at these small tolerances there were some inconsistencies with the squareness of everything (but still acceptable aesthetically)

Then found out that my TS blade has a slight runout (eyeball) and that the friggin throat plate is 3 - 5mm lower in several places!!!

So i measured the exact height that a new throat plate has to be in order for it to be flushed with the TS. AND LO AND BEHOLD. its exactly 9mm.. so i sandwiched a 3mm and a 6mm acrylice WEEE... and there you have it an acrylic ZCI

re aligned the fence (good thing semi adjustable to) and rechecked the cross cut sled for the blade squareness after i got rid of the runout (just cleaned the arbor with some wd-40)

now i should be able to cut with precision in closer tolerances
