HELLO, I am new to woodworking. As a newbie I bought a brand new makita 5806 circular saw on OLX. I just want to know if it is a AUTHENTIC or a FAKE?

-the label on the unit says 5806, but on the box it says 5806B
-the unit says it is made from JAP, and I am using a MAKITA carbide tip blade, but then I have to place it backwards(logo facing the motor)
-I am not sure but I think the 5806/5806B should have a lock button(power). Apparently I dont have it.

Thank you for your help!

sir , is that the 5806 saw priced at 3.5k or the other ad at 3.3k? tempted of buying one but having second thoughts ( already have 3 saws)

based from the two ads , the saw priced at 3.5k has 5806 label on the motor , makita embossed logo on the upper blade guard, no lock button,
while the saw priced at 3.3k has 5806 label on the motor, 5806b label on the box, makita sticker logo on the upper blade guard, with lock button

i think the post i saw has been removed. i forgot the name of the seller -_- but it's the one that says:

"makita circular saw
3,500(from 4000)
with carbide tip blade"

and because the blade is placed facing the motor, it needs an adapter, making it not inlign with the baseplate. correct me if i'm wrong or maybe i just have to align it by myself. i just haven't figured it out how

It's fake! Better to get Skil from Handyman(kapag sale) than these Makita from OLX na may free pa daw na Makita blade na fake din naman. 🙁

Oh well.. Lesson learned..

Orig price is 4200.
