Re: MDF Boards Projects

bro bryant, gaano kakapal yung wood grain laminate na ginamit mo? Before kasi I use formica laminates na madali mag-chip kapag tumatama yung gilid during transpo. Are you using the same kind or ito yung parang wall paper?

Re: MDF Boards Projects

@Jarod,

Im not sure about the thickness, I think it 0.8mm. Brand is Multiform. Unica & Italy brand madaling mag chip at mas manipis nasa 0.6-0.7 mm thickness. The best laminate you can get is WilsonArt or SIBU.

Re: MDF Boards Projects

Bryant77, it is better to have system in the mess, than to have mess in the system. Nice work by the way. I live in Toledo City, Cebu, and are also planning to make a kitchen in my new house, that is when I get that fare, to much work yet. I contacted World Class Laminate and to my surprice they answered with an invitation to contact their factory in Tayud, Consolacion, Cebu. I will go there next week and hoping to be surpriced. I am going to use 15 mm melamine particle boards for the cabinets and maybe radiata pine for the doors. I think 18 mm is to heavy for cabinets. In Europe we used mostly 15 mm last time I was in business about 10 years ago.

Re: MDF Boards Projects

@Moji

I also using cutter blade. Tajima Blades with 14 snap-off segments, unlike the ordinary with 7 only. Para pag mapurol putol lang yun end ng blades.

Re: MDF Boards Projects

Comparison of cut

Dull Freud blade thin kerf (left) after cutting almost 100 sheets of Melamine boards vs New Bosch Optiline 60T (Right).

Based on experience Optiline will start to dull after cutting 15-20 sheets of melamine boards.

Re: MDF Boards Projects

More than a week na itong WIP ko, pasensya na ngayon ko lang napicturan kung kelan patapos na.

The cabinet is for the basin type lavatory. Made of 3/4" Marine plywood with woodgrain laminate. Yun loob is finished using Boysen Enamel Paint to protect the board from moisture and water. Hole in the left is for the faucet and the other one is for the basin strainer.

Test fitting of fixtures (faucet & lavatory). Im just waiting for the 1/2" thick brown glass top na pagpapatungan ng basin.

doors not yet installed bibili pa ng soft close concealed hinges at door handles.

After installation sa bathroom ng SIL ko. The basin is seated in a 1/2" bronze glass.

Doors still WIP.
