no worries Dom, got lots of work done today. mostly flattening the top using hand planes. got the edges cut off a bit and still have 5" more spare.leveled the front, marked the edges and leveled the bottom...

I plan to make an office table inspired by the traditional workbench design and making panels flat would be a great skill for that ... just dont know what my co workers will say... or my boss... hahaha

Yes, Ben, a router jig should work off the bat. thought about it too, but set up could be a pain with the enormity of my build.
you already got the everything you need (jointer, thicknesser, skill and knowledge) you don't need a router jig imho...

sorry sir wala pa kong hand plane na kahit ano. I dont know what to get pa. hehehe the only planer i have is the "yellow" one. :p

got two hours free, I cut the initial shape, will be using the router on it soon. also got it smooth with the no.4. bukas, I intend to start sanding... or maybe routering... (sorry for the cellphone pictures)
