Re: My Commissioned Conference Table build...

Re: My Commissioned Conference Table build...

been there before Ramon, although they have a nice variety like Spanish Cedar, Mahogany and Dao, the prices they have are very high considering their stuff is very rough and air dried only...

Re: My Commissioned Conference Table build...

sanded the top then some hand plane work and sanded with 80 grit then sanded with 120 grit, after which I stained it.

all was ok until I noticed under the light that some portion took stain more than some parts.

after giving it four hours to dry a bit I used a scrubbing pad and spread the stain evenly, I am very pleased with the result so far and the portion with less stain will be evened out once a primary finish is applied and glazed... bukas naman yun.

Re: My Commissioned Conference Table build...

Isn't that the common problem with mahogany? It stains unevenly.. how come you did not use sanding sealer first before staining?

Re: My Commissioned Conference Table build...

I wanted two layers of stain to begin with so it would be deeper and darker. So having an initial stain will give me the luster I seek with the stain over the sealer will be there to make it slightly darker and even...
