Re: MY First Mirror

Work on the drawer yesterday also made a jig for the ¼ inch box joint.

Test fitting the hard ware.

Not a fully functional drawer because of the size its more on the design.

Re: MY First Mirror

Apply red mahogany wood stain.

Found out that I do not have enough polyurethane so decided to put lacquer instead.

It might be that your mixture has too little thinner. I used to have that problem too.

Hmm..when i mix paint i don't really rely on ratios. You can start with 1 paint to 2 thinner but i usually go more than that on thinner. I usually go by the consistency of the mixture. I go for milk like consistency with my regular gun, when i use my hvlp mini gun i go for almost water like consistency.
trial and error lang so try it out on scrap first.

After getting the consistency of the paint right, i would suggest tweaking your material to air mixture on the spray gun. Try to search the net for the proper ways of doing this.

Re: MY First Mirror

I had experienced this web like stuff too. Proper tip to air pressure adjustments solved it for me. I Increased air pressure to the gun a bit. ( 1 part paint to 2.5 thinner using a 1.5mm Tip at a consistent 32 PSI on the HVLP gun ).
