the 9 x 12 woodshop also had some facelift with the installation of a new easy to clean ceramic tiles

this bodega turned woodshop has no window on the west side which is serving as a firewall facing the vacant lot and light comes from the entry and exit doors only...since i would like to place the wb on this side i thought of a small window.

with the new sliding window in place i can view the greeneries consisting of bush trees that have grown to almost 10 feet. the lot is still vacant.

@V

Good choice on the Tiles Flooring. I used it too on my workshop and had found it to be very easy to clean. Saw dust, oil, paint, glue ... you name it. Very easy to maintain.

Re: my small woodshop

nice window, I'm sure you have considered a huge exhaust or a dust cleaner, saves you the trouble of cleaning everything everytime...

Now, back to business... how was the check-up?

Re: my small woodshop

@jay,

thanks!

even though someone elsewhere says a woodshop full of sawdusts is a sign of a fertile mind, i still prefer mine to be clean at the end of the day or at least every other day hehe...i initially preferred a "coated" synthetic granite tiles but these 60x60cm tiles are quite expensive i opted in the end for a cheaper ceramic tile. what id like with the granite is the exacting edges needing just a thin grout in between.grouts are prone to chemical stains (i applied a grout sealer anyway but this is not a guarantee).

@timber,
a dust hood will be installed overhead with its ducting exiting somewhere ..i still need to shop for a "super silent" exhaust fan hopefully with lamp for this purpose..hoping before the year ends i can play already. these things take time for me now as i need to go to work and still worry about seeing a doctor every so often.

my scan was moved to a later time.i was the one who cancelled it. was feeling ill the other day.it will be next Saturday instead.

i still am planning the build for the overhead dust and air collector and all of your ideas will be my privilege.

thanks and hoping the Philconstruct will be fun for all the PHM guys.

haha chickboy pala ha!

i remember the last Philsconstruct booth filled with two gorgeous ladies in tattered jean shorts complete with hard hats and leather aprons. picture naman jan oh!

Due to the economic crisis, they scrimped too much even on clothing. It's now mini sandos and mini shorts. Poor girls, lucky chickboys 😀

Re: my small woodshop

nice shop, how i envy you. You guys might remember me as axilla from the old TPC thread. I used to complain about my lack of space, but I've moved homes and since then I've had zero space.

All my tools and projects are in storage, and will be in storage for the conceivable future.

Rather then let them rust away, i'm putting (some) of them up for sale. I don't know the going rate anymore so just pm your offers. These tools have served me well, and it's a shame to see them rot away.

1) 4 Pony pipe clamps, with 4 foot pipes.

2) 1HP random orbit sander, ryobi. This is a powerful beast, i sometimes use this instead of a hand plane, especially for palo china. This machine rescued me when I made a mistake in measuring drawers, after finishing my drawers were almost 1/4" too wide. Solution? I drove in the nails with a nail set and sanded away.

3) Stanley Workman #5 plane (this is better than new, i lapped this on glass, and sharpened it with a lansky) . Solid, heavy, never dropped, sharp. This was barely used, what i can't do with a block plane, i do with a sander.

4) small 4" woodworking vise. cast iron

5) Irwin bench screw for making a workbench.

6) Jet JTS 10 table saw, on caster wheel base. This made quick work of trimming 8x4's to size, quickly and consistently. The trick to using a portable table saw to handle 8x4 is to extend the working surface using sawhorses, and having an assistant to help feed the plywood. If you're building a house or remodeling cabinets and kitchens, this will pay for itself in a week.

Re: my small woodshop

Looks like a nice budding workshop you have here Zepol. Congratulations.

I have several of those Ryobi orbital sanders, boats need lots of sanding. Have you found a steady supply of the velcro backed disks? I've found Bosch disks locally but they seem to be in short supply so I keep a small stock I had sent from the U.S.
