Dear Pinoy Handy Man,

Greetings to all.

I am a newbie in woodworking. I am trapped by the thought that no one in our place seems to have the interest in doing the project I have in mind. I saw this on the Internet, and would like to build my own. (completely clueless as to what and where to start.) I hope someone can be so kind to help me with my very first project.

Here are the photos:

Here are my questions:

1. What materials should be used to create the false floor on the study?
2. What materials should be used on the bed?
3. How do you create the table? Hehe

Lastly, if someone else have some recommendations, I would appreciate the help. Kayo nalang po ang magdagdag, wala na ako ibang maisip eh hihi

Re: Need a lot of help 🙂

By the way, another question is how do I attach the computer desk to the wall? Thank you again 🙂

Re: Need a lot of help 🙂

The simplest way is to use shelf brackets like this:

Available at ACE, Home Depot, etc.

Thanks sa recommendation sir. I am thinking of using that too. Pero, in the photo above, do you think there's any other means aside from using a shelf bracket?

Also, naa ka recommendations sa uban questions nako sir? Need jud nako ang inputs from masters like you. Thanks.

Re: Need a lot of help 🙂

At ikea there is a range of products called Lack. The shelf is what you need to look for, at their site are pdfs on instructions but there is a limit to the weight it can support. The floor could be made of 32mm flaxboard laminated with formica might be hard to come by in pinas due to the width required. As for the table the hardware will need a bit of a think. It looks like a locking telescopic strut. Your karpintero might think of an alternative when he sees it.

Re: Need a lot of help 🙂

Thanks for the information, Bro 22y.

I am worried about the floor too. I am concerned that an ordinary wood may not work pretty well and may shrink 🙁

I hope someone here can provide me more informations 🙂

Re: Need a lot of help 🙂

i think you can look for a good quality plywood i cebu. just ask for a very good one. dont settle for cheap plywood. also by looking side ward on the edge you can check if the plywood is warp. make sure it flat.

base on your design this would take proper planning and designing.. hope you can find the design plan for that concept so that its easier to build

Re: Need a lot of help 🙂

I recommend, Sam, that you combine the many suggestions made on the two other threads you created:

Space Saving Room Design Help
Help me with my Bed/Cabinet plan

I can understand that you are excited on picking your first project and may be beset with a flurry of questions. But, if you will re-read the threads above, you will find that there were many nuggets there.

Use these suggestions in coming up with a plan of action. Then post your plan and we can calibrate/improve it for you.
