Good Day!

I prefer dark color kaya I used Walnut. Medyo mas naitatago yung imperfections.
Once satisfied with the color, mga 3 coats of wood varnish. I use the matte kind na di masyado makintab pero will provide protection. Pag makintab, magiging halata yung errors.
Just remember, the divider is not the center of attention.
Suggest ko lang na use long strokes when applying the stain and varnish. Like how the fibers of the wood flows.
I used this technique sa wood stairs namin. Sa computer desk ko naman, I just used the wood textured vinyl sticker. I also used the dark colored one kasi yung light colors masyado halata na fake.
I do not use paint kasi hindi ako marunong magmasilya.
Just...[COLOR="Red"]DRILL IT!
Re: need help how to finish
In addition to VivaFoxpro's suggestions:
Did you use nails or purely glue? Of nails, drive them in deeper than the plywood's surface by using another, bigger, nail. There is also a Stanley tool you can buy for this.
Then, masilya (fill in) to cover the nail head. I like using Timbermate. It's available in larger Wilcons, waterbased, many colors, sandable, and stainable. On open-grain wood/plywood, I like thinning Timbermate with water so it's like wet putik and apply on entire surface then sand.
The Ace suggestion is good. There are also other good brands at True Value. Best to go for the same brand of stain and varnish for compatibility.
BTW, did you edge-band those plywood edges? Exposed plywood edges, for me, turn out ugly when stained.
Re: need help how to finish
Many thanks sir Viva sa magandang suggestion... oonga po natauhan ako sa sinabi nyo, gusto ko kasi maging center of attraction yung divider kasi 1st time ko gumawa, pero tama kayo, yung nakalagay ang dapat mangibabaw 😀
@ sir balarila
