Re: need help on making cremation urn in 2 days

Guys, thank you very much for your condolences and quick response on the suggestions

i am actually in glendale , california. i frankly dont know where in US that is as iam not really a stateside person.

i just remembered i have shellac from Timber so i can use that and slim down the drying time

my dad told me to take my time , they can use a temporary urn first then will later be transferred to the one i will make.

www.kettleriverurns.com/urns0002.html here i s another one i saw that looks elegant and zen and looks simple to make, except for for the square ebony inlay

So you do have tools and machines where you are? I do believe that most ww stores there can cut the pieces you need to size. That may be a time saver and could require you less tools. Will ask around who stays in Glendale and let you know.

Re: need help on making cremation urn in 2 days

was hoping to do some dovetailing in the urn and needed a decent sized router. got some miter lock bits as well which might be helpful, still not sure of the final design but most likely its the one i posted, should be ok since there really isnt any aesthetic dovetail involved. ill just use the existing dovetail jig i have or the corners if possible, half-blind ones

thanks again guys really appreciate it

Or you can just ebonize them. I think there is a video of Charles Neil on the topic so no need for dark woods.

Re: need help on making cremation urn in 2 days

So sorry abut your loss, Bee.

Been away for some time and only now catching up.

I don't know where you live nor what tools you have. But if you are anywhere near Antipolo and in need of a bandsaw, you are most welcome to my Rikon. I have both slicing and curve-cutting blades. Just PM.
