Hi guys,

I am currently starting my first project in woodworking and I'm so glad i found this site. Lots of helpful information!

Do you guys have any suggestions on where i can buy cheap powertools ni Manila, specifically in Mandaluyong area?

Also since i am just starting, do you guys know a place where I can have my 3/4 Plywood cut to specification? I asked Home Depot and they told me they dont do cutting services...

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks and enjoy the rest of your day!

Re: Newbie Question

Hi there mandaragit,

Well how much is your budget for these new cheap power tools you want to purchase. There are lots of cheap tools from OLX by Sulit if you are on a tight budget. There are surplus power tools like Ozito, Ryobi and others from Australia. Problem with these brands, no warranty, no service centers and parts if you will need any in case it gets defective. That is the chance you will have to take. 😮

But if I were you I'll settle with the SKIL, Maktek or Black&Decker brands for starters, not so expensive as the Bosch, Makita or DeWALT . But for sure you will get after sales service and parts and satisfactions from these brands and will last you years of usage, IMHO !

There are home depots in Ortigas Ave. or at mall hardware stores around its vicinity.

GOOD LUCK on your choice !! 😉

Re: Newbie Question

thank you so much for the tip, I've been to Ace and the Black and Decker brand seems reasonably priced... and with the after service sales I just might get it from them nalang.... I tried looking at sulit(olx) but im wary of getting a lemon... so i think ill just shell out the extra cash to have peace of mind (warranty and stuff). thanks again

Are you searching the correct keyword?

There are cheap but very good items in Sulit. For instance circular saw.

do you guys know a place where I can have my 3/4 Plywood cut to specification?

Why not cut it yourself, your in to woodworking anyway. Youtube is a good way to start looking for tips and tutorial. And ofcourse PHM for hard to find answer and for trusted advise 🙂
