ang husay mo talaga OMJ!!!!!!! (Ottoman Morris Jonathan):victory: hahahah
Re: ottoman
there are still some re-touching to do, like clamp marks, and scratches...
the color didn't match the morris, although same finishes are used...
that's because of the different type of woods used...
inspite of some drawbacks, i'm still happy with the finished products,
i now have a more relaxing days ahead with the footstool, as it is a long weekend...
mabuhay !!!

i remember you used the BLO sa Morris chairs, di kaya yun ang naging difference?
also Jonathan, pwede bang walang webbings sa ilalim ng foam at deretsong plywood na lang?
Re: ottoman
@jonathan,
congrats to you and your swmbo!!!
thanks for documenting everything in the process...especially in the later stages you provided us with decent pictures.
the original Morris furniture's finish is darker than yours but i didnt say it is not equally appealing.. but i will stake my claim that yours is sturdier for making use of one of the hardest local species of wood and that is yakal...you braved to cut them regardless of the consequence to your expensive carbide blades and bits...truly a piece of work to last for ages.
i trust that the wood plans are available from Wood Magazine..Yes! id definitely want to build something like it someday but not in the nearest future.
Now sit back and relax and feel the sense of pride of a true woodworker in you.
:clap::clap::clap:
PS:
i honestly would like to tell you that i am rooting more on the finish you made on the ottomans..perhaps the wood you chose to build them absorbed more stain than the denser yakal...anyway i guess they are just the prototypes? LOL
The devil will find work for idle hands to do.-Morrissey

yes armand, maybe the blo makes the difference,
but the wood was so soft and lighter, i have to coat it with stain a couple of times.
kaya medyo nag darkened.
and these are left overs, nagtipid ang manong , yun tuloy ang result...
i should have used the same wood...
puede siguro walang webbing if the foam is thick enough like 6" or more...
but the webbing does give extra cushion and support underneath,
and the feel is somewhat softer, kesa plywood ang ilalagay.
i sometimes check the webbing underneath, and found out that the webbing gives a some sort of cushioning to the foam, parang shock absorber.
these webbing really does help, with added comfort...
thanks armand....
V,
Thanks very much, without the swmbo, the upholstery would be a mess, tried doing it alone, hindi ko na itinuloy,
those wrapping and stitches, really should go to the hand of the swmbo...
yes there are plenty of wood plans,
but when you get used to the projects, whats next is making modifications.
sometimes, what i did is change the dimensions,
because some of the plans, does not suit to our sizes.
or like when i did the morris, modified it like doing the sofa...
jayL,
ha ha ha, naluto sa stain....
thanks ...

thanks brad,
but the colored finished didn't match the morris...
actually it is then that i realized that i didn't matched the color...
and V, mention about prototypes,
sometime when you do protos, you end up in regret,
sana pala ganito na ginawa ko, ganon na ginawa ko...:(
anyway, all is done well, and satisfied,
mag relax relax na lang muna, since it's a long weekend...:tv_happy:
more projects to come ...
thanks and mabuhay master timber !!!
