Re: plywood workbench

Nice build, I do have some questions a well:

- Are the legs only connected with the lower stretchers?
- How is the top fastened into the legs?
- Is the top only glued from one layer to another?
- If the top was chamfer'd/round-over'd/trimmed, is it not likely to still be rough?
- How to effectively prevent the ply's end grain from premature damage

Re: plywood workbench

no, they too are connected to the short stretchers
- How is the top fastened into the legs?
the first plywood nearest to the leg is screwed in place

- Is the top only glued from one layer to another?
the second ply is glued to the bottom layer, the rest is screwed in place making the pieces replaceable and reversible
- If the top was chamfer'd/round-over'd/trimmed, is it not likely to still be rough?
well, I haven't decided yet, but there is still room for whoever you want it to be, it too can be edge banded.
- How to effectively prevent the ply's end grain from premature damage
just like the previous, edge grained on for the top, regular poly finish for the rest will protect the edges.

the bench is really a nice build brader. very simple and easy to do (if you have a track saw:tounge2:) if only the ply was nicer, then I could have avoided most of the voids...

Boatbuilders buy marine plywood from Tuffply in Bulacan. I have not yet found any local plywood of equal quality.

On the edge protection, I think epoxy resin would do the trick.

Master Timber, salamat sa oras mo at sa demo / payo re: jigsaw... will definitely consider the Bosch GST 80 PBE 🙂

Re: plywood workbench

I can't exactly recall if it's Valenzuela or Meycawayan. They also have a Makati office where you can pick up small orders. I ordered my whole supply and had them delivered. This plywood is better than Sta. Clara from what I heard from boatbuilders.

Call this number to get better directions: +63 922 8833759

Look for Roberto Rodriguez
