After painting, I noticed that some cabinet doors have "waves." The cabinets are made of marine plywood.

May solution pa po ba dito? Pwede ba sya "plantsahin"?

Re: Problem with plywood (uneven surface)

Possibly you can apply a masilya over the whole surface then give it a good sanding then simply repaint again.

Yun bang waves sa plywood ay lumulubog pag dinidiinan, I just don't know if applying plantsa will solve the problem. Anyway lets wait for other woodworkers to give you a more concrete and satisfying suggestion.

Maybe bro BRYANT can suggest something !!!!

CIGWELD Weldskill 250 amp Mig Welder
AHP Alpha-TIG 200X welder
HITRONIC 300 Amp DC Inverter IGBT Welder
YAMATO 300 amp AC Stick Welder
YAMATO 200 amp DC Inverter IGBT Welder
DeWALT Chopsaw
HOBART and ESAB Welding Helmets

Encountered that problem once or twice. Just sanded it flat and then masilya.
Now I go to the stockpile of my suking hardware and choose the good ones to avoid the waves.

I know what bryant would suggest: use MDF. :p

Thanks po. Hindi naman lumulubog yung waves pag dinidiinan. Nung hindi pa sya napinturahan hindi ko naman nakita. 🙁

Thanks. I should've done that (choosing from the hardware pa lang), but since I didn't know anything about construction, ayun, panget yung mga nadeliver.

Pinapatanong ko na sa kuya ko kung pwede pa habulin ng liha yung mga alon. Kaya lang napinturahan na, I'm sure magdadahilan sila na hindi na pwede. Hay, frustrating. Ang panget panget nakakainis.

Re: Problem with plywood (uneven surface)

Did you used glossy paint like Quick Drying Enamel or Clear Gloss Lacquer for top coat? This will highlight the imperfection of the wood.

You need to have a perfectly flat finish if you're using this type of paint. Try to use flat finished paint waves & bumps will be unnoticeable.

Pero kung kaya pa habulin sa liha, pagawa mo na.

Other solution is to place a picture of your love ones (like your crush) on the wavy portion. Atleast when you look at it mapapa-smile ka.

Re: Problem with plywood (uneven surface)

^Haha sir bryant ok na sana eh. Pero napa-smile nga ako, kahit bothered talaga ako sa itsura nya.

Unfortunately, glossy po yung pinapalagay kong finish. Hindi ko talaga type ang flat paint eh. I guess I'll just have to live with it. Huhu.

Thanks ulit!

Hi,

Solusyon po namin sa blister after may finish na ay lagyan ng masking tape at sugatan sa gitna ng tape ng cutter along the grain tapos ibuka ng konti. using a runny superglue ung may needle squeeze a small amount tapos idiin what ever squeze-out should spill sa masking tape.
