Just want to share this build about a year ago but completely finish last week because of a tiny detail a finial, This was my very first build actually second my first is a panel door, just practicing a cabriole legs with this palo china. The feet should be turn that time i don't have a lathe

After perfecting it I decided to go for a palo china lowboy for prototype before I proceed to an expensive wood.

Re: Queen Anne Lowboy

Use the carcase as a Queen Anne router table. The two sides are not glued yet only the tenon's holding it.

Re: Queen Anne Lowboy

Sides glue up and use the pipe clamp to put the top , not a futuristic extension table.

Prepare to front drawer and routed the top.

Re: Queen Anne Lowboy

Layout the shell curving on the front drawer.

After finding out that curving is not for me and needs more time to practice I decided to inlay it , stain it with dark walnut and 3 coats of polyurethane.

Re: Queen Anne Lowboy

After a year it stay that way with one detail missing, a finial and last week on to the lathe to make one start with a palo china and making it cylindrical.

My first attempt and put too much pressure the wood give up

So its on to the lathe again to redo my work, Using a gauge a carefully work my way not to commit the mistake I made previously.

Using a caliper a sizes the dowels.

Re: Queen Anne Lowboy

Success finally it’s a finial.

But I have to make another one and duplicating is the hardest part here.
Thank fully a decent replication.

Ready to install.
