Re: Repair a broken cabinet door

@willy,

great wips and enjoyable to browse thru the pages..pics are clear and well documented.

left handed ka pla brader?

what i notice lang is the position of your cs in relation to the cs guide...
this is what i do...the edge of the guide is hugging the blade and will register exactly the cut on the material.

another thing..since we promote safety here..i noticed your table saw practice...ripping thin material when the blade is too way up.

again...wips like yours encourage motivation to build more.

cheers!

Re: Repair a broken cabinet door

looking good Willy, though I believe cutting the sides and top and joining the pieces using pocket hole jig would save you half the material you used. Your tools are almost if not complete already and you should be able to do what you want with them. One more thing, ang laki ng space mo.... :jump: workbench na siguro kasunod nito no? :secret:

Thanks Sir Timber! I'm not sure if it will stand up to constant opening and closing. I'm more concerned sa strength, pag buo mas matibay (at least that is what I think).

Open kasi siya on all sides.:rain:

Yun din sana ang next project ko kaya. Lagi na move yun location ng aking workspace baka next time dun na ako ilagay sa rooftop.:D

Re: Repair a broken cabinet door

for future cabinet builds, i wanted stainless steel piano hinges.

those chrome/brass plated chiwanese ones are prone to rust and very unsightly in due time..and yes they squeak a lot!

🙁

of course, slow closing concealed hinges are a fad nowadays.
🙂

Re: Repair a broken cabinet door

Thank you po sa lahat ng nag like.

@ Sir V,
Thanks po! I copied that same guide, kaya lang it was ment yata for right handed users. Sometimes my cuts will wonder off kahit steady ang hawak ko. So I tried to use the other side using my left hand, so far ok naman. I 'm ambidextrous, but I'm more comfortable using my left when doing heavy work.

Re: Repair a broken cabinet door

nice wips willy classmate...

very nice and clear.

i foresee a nice big woodshop on your rooftop...:fortune:

maglagay ka na lang muna ng kahit temporary shield or trapal kahit sa 2 sides, then cocentrate mo muna sa side na yon ang workspace mo para maminimize ang moisture and then maraming projects na ang magawa...

and yes a workbench is a very nice addition to your woodshop, para every project will be nice to work at...

mukhang dyaan magandang magkaroon ng eb...:rave:

@willy,

great documentation! pics are clear and so the captions..

this is what i do..the edge guide is perpendicular to the saw blade and is hugging it and will exactly register the cut on the material.

again...wips like yours encourage motivation to build more.

:goodluck:

Yes sir V. I've noticed that while I was uploading these pictures. Mental mistake on my part. Probably forgot while I was cutting and shooting at the same time. I usually adjust the blade height a quarter of an inch higher than the thickness of the wood. I do advocate safety, these toys of ours needs proper handling. Thanks for the advice Sir V.:thanks:

Thanks Jon!

You don't know how much I would like to build one. Nasa akin na ng lahat ng parts. Kaya lang I'm constantly moving my workshop.

EB what?:) Sure why not. I envisioned an EB na surrounded tayo ng lahat toys na gusto natin and pwede natin i-test. That would be nice.

wd40 will not give enough protection for the tools.

much better you put thick auto grease, i used lithium grease, messy nga lang, but it does gives extra protection for our tools...

well i guess what you need is a folding workbench...

Dumb mistakes will always be dumb mistakes, unless . . . . you learn from it, and then it will be learning experience.

Re: Repair a broken cabinet door

Nice weekend project Willy..wips are very clear. Your workshop is similar to mine half covered lang sya ng bubong ko so may trapal na kadugtong...and most of the time may tubig sa sahig. What i am doing this rainy season is cover my tools with plastics with some clips para di liparin.

Keep it up!
