So, I figured I can't do any woodworking unless I get to build a workbench because my back really hurts. After reading and re-reading posted workbenches, watching and re-watching Youtube videos, I figured the Longlife table on sale in S&R will not satisfy my craving so I decided to get some wood.
3x2's :
I just used butt joints:
And finally, was able to finish except for the table tops, just used scrapwoods temporarily:
Notes on this build:
1. The plan dimensions will always change especially when correcting errors!
2. Hirap pala magscrew with just a manual screwdriver ng 3-inch screws!
3. My cheap drill pala can take the philips bits! Saved me a lot of time. Ngayon ko lang nadiscover.
4. I need help how to protect the wood.
The casters idea I got it from Steve Ramsey in his workbench build.
Now, I can start working on making something to atleast make the wife happy.
Next build a simple L-shaped wall cabinet for the wife's jars.
Re: Second Build: WorkBench
For starters, no matter how simple or ordinary the built of your work bench is, what's important is you can now start producing needed wood projects for the house and as you said, it will make the wife happy. I know with perseverance and dedication you'll reach that point somehow when you'd be making wood projects comparable to the wood masters in the forum, magiging magastos nga lang so brace yourself coz you will for sure be buying more tools to hone your skills.
Keep it up and just keep it coming, you'd be making mistakes along the way but that's how it is and that's part of learning. Plus with the first project you posted and this one, you are just doing fine.
GOOD LUCK and congrats !!! 😉 😀

Re: Second Build: WorkBench
Thanks, sir Rosy! Very true po, every step of the way meron akong natutunan. And definitely magastos. Very addicting yung mga tools, not to mention yung raw materials for the proj, like wood, screws, paint, im just hoping that someday I can make something that will really last for a long time, and it will be something timeless. Yung di po ba itatapon.
But one thing I noticed with the tools, it may look it makes a person an expert instantly, but it does not. Kasi po kala ko with the circular saw, my cutting will be perfectly straight, but it's still not.
