Re: Show your Quickie Quickie Projects

just to comment a little.

i really hate brush to apply stains..its just too messy...see blotchy results (especially for plywood and edge of it)..i use gauze to control the application.

another thing...i sand the project first before the stain..not after.

anyway..its just a mic and cable box..

and still a quickie project to be proud of.

another morris chair coming? of course it needs a partner..for the swmbo.;)

Re: Show your Quickie Quickie Projects

Doc V jayL,

:thanks: we really need this box, our cables don't live as much because of lack of storage. and yes the music leaders are very happy.

balarila,

on the NGR stain, these are the first stain i've known, i've seen those ace stain before, but afraid to use, imported kasi. :shocked2: but when i've tried the ace, yun na stock na yung NGR, sayang naman, kaya pang quickie project na sya ngayon...:dog:

armand,

thanks very much, God bless you too .

and yes thoose NGR are very messy and fast drying which work to my advantage in doing this quickie project.

actually doc V, i sanded the project before applying the stain...

i scuffed sanded the project after the application of the lacquer sanding sealer...then top coated.

but i should have used the gauze upon application.

another morris chair is coming soon, and it's a longer version :thanks: doc V...

Hi there jonathancruz68,

Nice quickie quickie project you've got there, very practical and very useful to some bulky tools lying around and most specially this chisel rack of yours, this reminded me of your previous box project, " the music wire box ", where you also installed a mic rack which really gave me an idea for some of my tools too, and now this one too, your chisel rack, seeing these simple wips of yours made me smile and said to myself I know who made this rack, it looks so familiar, he he he he , jon another cute and practical idea again, good for my screw drivers and a number of chisels too just inside two carpentry tool boxes.

Hopefully when I'm ready to do woodworking too I'll be able to use these carpentry tool sets, I'm still in the process of accumulating power tools for carpentry little by little, but then jon just keep those practical ideas coming, they are just great. 🙂 :p

Hi Rosy. This off-topic but you really don't have to "accummulate power tools", actually IMHO it is better to start with manual tools if only because it is safer.

Are you a lady? I ask because then further applause is due.

Re: Show your Quickie Quickie Projects

HE HE HE HE HE sorry sir bbn,
An off topic reply for sir bbn

Not a lady, am just a simple guy who also loves DIYing too, actually I have already several manual tools accumulated all these years and some na minana ko pa sa erpats ko, then some power tools for woodworking my sons gave me for christmas or birthdays.

Aside from my painting career I'm also into metalworking/welding, actually I'm one of the bakal boys here in PHM, the user's name is just an acronym of my name and surname. I'm also from eastern Rizal like you sir bbn.
