Re: Sister Study Table

Most probably you will be using plywood to build this project. I strongly suggest to use lacquer based paints para madali and kayang tapusin in one day and wala pang amoy.

Try the following steps:

1. Spray Lacquer primer
2. lacquer putty
3. Spray lacquer primer (with sanding in between)
4. Base color of your choice (at least 3 coats and with sanding in between coats)
5. Spray Lacquer varnish (your choice of matte or gloss)

This way you will never get the orange peel texture like what you got in your kitchen cabinet. I have tried this finishing technique in my painted projects.

Again, this is just my suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion... I will use lacquer this time...

Question:

Re: Sister Study Table

Table top

Heavy sanding on the plyboard...

Based from experience and suggestions from this this forum...
i'm following these procedure to complete this project asap.

1. Heavy sanding in the plyboard and make it as smooth and flat as possible treating it just like a solid wood.

2. Sand everything before assembling the project in preparation for finishing.

3. Use Pocket hole in assembling the project to avoid bare nails.

4. use lacquer and sray gun for finishing

Re: Sister Study Table

looking good nick..just keep posting...we're watching the progress ;).

Ang nakikitang kong madugo is the finishing..looks like the plyboard you used has many depressed surface..malalim ang babatakan ng putty. Next time try to look for Agusan brand na plyboard..locally made but very flat and makinis both sides...medyo pili lang ang hardwares na merong Agusan.

will try to find agusan brand plyboard next thanks for the tip 🙂

Re: Sister Study Table

applying it by spraying...

kaya kayang maitago ng laquer primer and grains ng plywood? or kailangan kong applyan ng polituff lahat ng surface? any suggestions?

any advice from those have experience in using laquer paints..

by the way i'm painting the study table color white (smooth and glossy)
