@kansismade: spade bit ang ginamit ni nick which is very dangerous to use..i suggest not to use this type of bit for pocket screw drilling. Try to contack JayL or check his item[COLOR="Navy"] HERE.
His drill bit is the proper tool for the job.

many tear outs on the plywood...(i do not know for the hardwood) but, since pocket holes are hidden... not much of a problem

Most probably you will be using plywood to build this project. I strongly suggest to use lacquer based paints para madali and kayang tapusin in one day and wala pang amoy.
Try the following steps:
1. Spray Lacquer primer
2. lacquer putty
3. Spray lacquer primer (with sanding in between)
4. Base color of your choice (at least 3 coats and with sanding in between coats)
5. Spray Lacquer varnish (your choice of matte or gloss)This way you will never get the orange peel texture like what you got in your kitchen cabinet. I have tried this finishing technique in my painted projects.
Again, this is just my suggestion.

nung bumili akong pintura... sa paintshop ako pumunta hindi sa hardware...
yung binigay sakin na brand ng pintura hindi ko na matandaan kasi litro litro lang ang binili ko kaya walang pangalan sa lata kung anong brand ng pintura yun... basta ang alam ko mas mura sya kaysa sa boysen 🙂
Sana nakatulong... bumili ka po sa paintstore huwag sa hardware... sa hardware kasi puro branded na pintura ang nandun kaya mahal gaya ng boysen.

Nick is right..bring your plan to the paint store para sila ang mag estimate..you can ask advice on procedure pa from them.
