same procedure with the top cover..just one coat of polyurethane and two coats sealer.

tomorrow will install the stainless piano hinges.

..will go back to the previous posts and re install the photos..i hate imageshack..hooray photobucket!

using a gauze to apply stain..the reason why i use gauze instead of a brush is the speed of application.

Hehe, spend enough time working in a hospital and you find all sorts of uses for gauze and paper tape. If you don't watch it, you might find yourself washing your tools in distilled water, and washing your hands in saline. 🙂

urethane finish dry it was time to install the hinges.

i opted to a stainless piano hinges.cut to size and a little machining done on both ends coz i want it a bit flush to the surface.

piano hinges screwed..now top cover is fixed and in place.

ahh..sanding marks!!! id better get a new sander.

i now have a small drafting bedside table...

the last to do will be the padded rubber feet to glide on the laminate floor.
