Kamusta? Natuwa ako nung makita ko na meron palang ganitong forum. Kakasimula ko pa lang. Bumili ako ng dremel rotary kasi gusto ko lang talaga mag modify ng PC case. Tapos blower at corded drill. Unting tingin tingin at napabili ako ng Dremel Sawmax - kasi hindi intimidating ang mukha kumpara sa circular saw. Nagamit ko na yung mga tools at nakapagputol na rin ako ng mga extra extra particle board para maging shelving. Ngayon gusto ko na gumawa ng sarili kong lamesa para sa PC pero workbench - gamit ko ngayon ay yung skil portable workbench - muna sana. Kung ok lang sana makahingi ng tulong sa pagbili ng kahoy sa karaniwang hardware dito sa Metro Manila. Dahil wala akong alam sa brand o tipo ng kahoy, gusto ko sana pagpunta ko sa hardware ay meron na akong listahan para hindi mapasama yung bili.
In general, anong klase/brand ng kahoy ang pang legs at tabletop? Preferably screw friendly?
Kung pang outdoor ang workbench, ano dapat? Maiinitan at mauulanan, araw-araw. Ano ang mga layers ng paint ang dapat ko gamitin?
Nakapagbasa at nakapanood na rin naman ako ng mga youtube videos pero baka hindi naman available yung mga kahoy na ginagamit nila dito o kaya naman sobrang mahal.

in addition to my reply to your member introduction ... so what you want is a workbench that will also serve as a table when your not doing any project. i would recommend to simply use coco lumber (2"x3") for the frame of the table and "palo tsina" (at least 1-1/2" thick - screw friendly) for the table top ... forget about painting it, since its primary purpose is a workbench, which means it has to take a lot of beating when your working on a project ... you can also add a box drawer with wheels for your tools which you can place at the bottom of your table ... it may look like a simple project, but as i said in my other reply, with a little planning, you can come-up with a workbench that will serve all your needs in the future ... cheers

Ang workbench ay dapat pangmatagalang gamit mo na at kasama mo sa lahat ng project. Kung gagawa ka ay yung talagang matibay na. Available na kahoy sa hardwares ay yung lauan, pwede na yun, hanapin mo lang yung mapula. Kagandahan ng ng kahoy sa hardware stores as kilndry na sya..just make sure to ask the tinderos kung kilndried ang kahoy na binebenta nila. Search ka na lang sa google at youtube about building a workbench ang dami mong makikita and you will realize how easy to build one.
Meantime, take a look at this WORKBENCH na ginawa ko nung 2011..hanggang ngayon tibay pa rin.

Siguro simula na ako magtanong sa hardware ng mga kahoy. May nakita na rin akong design ng workbench galing sa youtube ng Bosch. Simple lang siya pero magandang pagkakataon para masubukan at mortis at tenon.
Last na tanong, anong tawag dun sa cylindrical na kahoy na pwede gawin joint?

Sir Boo, saan kaya makakahanap ng wooden dowels? Nagtanong na ako dito sa mga hardware sa amin at pati na rin dun sa mga home depot, wala sila.
@ newsboycap, same with me, paubos na rin yun stock ko ng wooden dowels 🙂 he he he ... go to the PH website of known suppliers (e.g. Hafele, Hetich, etc) get their contact numbers and call them ... ask them for their wholesaler / distributor (get their contact numbers or email address) in your area that sells wooden dowels ... this are the companies (distributors) that supplies the other manufacturers with their needs. call them and ask them where to buy the dowels that you need ... most likely, there is a minimum order or purchase (e.g. one box by the hundred) ... not to worry, as long as you keep them dry, they will last for a long time ...if you want to purchase online, try wolcraft, they have stock, just not sure if they have a PH webiste ... better yet, ask your friends working in other countries if they can ship it you ... cheers

Hello sir. tungkol po sa wooden dowels. Nakagawa na po ako ng home made dowels using the pencil sharpener method. Effective po siya and economical kasi sariling gawa and materials can vary on what is available. You can watch it on youtube. I used my dowels sa pagrepair po ng chair joints.
@ newsboycap, i just remembered it now, you can also try and go to some Arts and Craft shops (e.g. Arts and Friends, National Bookstore) that has stock for wood projects - they have a lot of wooden rods of different sizes in 1m lenght which you can just cut and use as wooden dowels. if you need bigger sizes, try to see if you can use curtain rods made of wood 🙂 he he he ... i got the idea when i went with my wife shopping for curtains/rods for our house ... cheers

wooden dowels are available sa MCkenzie sa T. Alonzo, meron din sa Hafele, sa Tu Suy and Y2k sa Pinaglabanan San Juan. Last time bumili ako sa Y2k 100 pcs na 10mm x 40mm.
