i misplace my DIY adjustable shelf jig (9 holes with 4 holes up and down for the shelf position) which i needed for making a quick and dirty shelf cabinet 🙂 that my wife needed in our storage room.

unable to find my jig and being in a hurry to complete the cabinet at once as my wife is always asking me if it's already finish 🙂 he he he, i need to find a way to consistently and accurately mark the 9 lines of 32mm spacing for each shelf.

while looking for a paper to make a temporary template for the spacing measurement, i notice my daugther's school pad paper (with lines) and wondered if the line spacing also conforms to the System 32 concept.

to my suprise, it does 🙂 he he he ... each 5 horizontal lines equals 32mm and one piece of paper can make 9 32mm spacing just right for my project. if you use the pad paper with 1 vertical line at the left side for margin, much better as you can use the line to vertically align the template with your board or wood.

once the template is properly positioned to the wood or board, all you need to do is mark each position (each 5 lines = 32mm) of the hole with a hammer and a nail. then you can drill the 2mm or 3mm holes for the shelf pins.

if you don't have any shelf pins, a good substitue are 5mm wooden dowels or 4" common nails (you need to drill 5mm holes) which you can cut to the desired length of the shelf pins ... hope this info helps ... cheers
