2 x 5 feet brader... still not sure what path to take for the legs though, my previous one had feet and I am considering this to just have legs to maintain the clean lines... but the feet makes it look nice and sturdier... I guess you can see my confusion which path to take...

Re: timber's second workbench
any of the two will work..roubo's don't have feet anyway although they have massive legs. but design wise the feet looks classy..
Re: timber's second workbench

2 days is quite fast for the current status of the build...credit goes to Chisel, the guest woodworker :p

Re: timber's second workbench
3rd build day log. started the day cutting the top to size, digging the recess for the tail vise mechanism and added the dog hole strip and added the runner... (no camera today, just a camera phone)
a support block is added for the screw vise to stay secured.
the mechanism works as it should and should keep the dog free to move in the movable block...

mounted, it will also be invisible once the aprons are installed...
lots of math involved, good thing I love math...

Re: timber's second workbench
Cool. Offset tail vise. More complicated to plan and build, (but obviously the advantage is that the screw's now out of the way and brings back some of the benefits of the open tail vise.) Kudo's for aiming high =).
Re: timber's second workbench

will sell it to you 😀 hehehe, seriously, it stays at home. I sometimes feel bad when I do not have handplanes at home, imagine if I don't even have a workbench... that would just be unbearably sad... :p:p
