Re: turntable workbench

finally found some time to continue work on the tt bench...
found the materials for the top, cut in 4 feet lengths and clamped together in preparation to jointing.

drilled pocket holes to add strength alternately between the two boards.

glued, clamped with cauls too and screwed the edges together.

Re: turntable workbench

well its breaktime for me and now I have time to continue work on the tt bench top.
making the mortises for the leg tenons to fit into. hand cut lang para tight fit.

I use a mallet and since it is a bit heavy, I got a smaller one...

I always treat it with hardwood oil first before use.

the cut is at the desired depth now, test fitted already, I just need to trim the tenons tomorrow and gluing begins...

Re: turntable workbench

trim with a chisel and a block plane then dry fit...

a little more trimming and its glue time...

fit is perfect, tight as desired...

Re: turntable workbench

do you have a rough estimate how heavy this project weighs? do you need 2 people to carry this or just one?
