I plan to build a low cabinet right below the screen of my home theater. It will be a quick plywood job, just glued and nailed together. No exotic joinery here.
The finish should be flat black so it won't distract when I'm watching a movie. A very dark stain would be OK, too. I'd appreciate recommendations for the finishing. From masilya to sanding sealer to final coat.
I have a 2HP compressor and two spayguns with a 1.7 and 1.8 nozzle. I'd prefer water-based paints and fillers so it would be easy to clean.
Recommendations, pls?
Re: What plywood finish?
Davies waterbased flat black is a very good candidate.
Re: What plywood finish?
Thanks, Ricky.
Tinatamad ako mag-edge-band. What masilya can I use for the edges of the plywood na kakapitan ng Davies?
Is that Davies flat black latex?
Do I need to apply a primer?
Re: What plywood finish?
Any putty you have on hand will do, although i tend to use either rj london wb putty or yung polytuff brand.
Yes its latex, and i dont use primer anymore since most primers are in white color which tend to be harder to cover, but a thin coat of flat qde will help prevent nails from rusting.
