Re: wood adhesive
You're right. P1,600 is the paper cutter that I bought. But its too small to be a gallon. 1.5 liters, maybe?
:foryou: one gallon is 4.5 to 5 liters depending on the standard... even at 2 liters 1.6k is way too much

Re: wood adhesive
elmer's carpenters glue still available in Landmark Makati Hardware 3rd flr saw it last week. they are in small bottles not that 1ltr.
Re: wood adhesive
When SWMBo went to Makati yesterday, gave her driver P500k and told him to buy as much Elmer's as the money would go. He came back with six 8-ounce bottles. Got them from National bookstore at Greenbelt 1. Coming back today for more. Since Times doesn't sell this anymore, stock must be depleting.
BTW, considered buying gallon-sized Titebond II at Amazon and having it shipped. Ends up more expensive than Elmer's, even by the little bottles. But would anyone here swear by the superiority of Titebond II over Elmer's.

for one..Titebond II is waterproof...you can use it to make chopping boards...build a gazebo...etc..Elmer's carpenter's glue is partly.
for strength? i cant tell much..could be hairline difference..unless we really test the two.

Re: wood adhesive
I think there's an Elmers Carpenters Glue MAX avail at Amazon. Suppose to be waterproof at $35.00/ gallon, cheaper than Titebond II. Regular Elmers Carpenter Glue is around $25.00 I think.
Dumb mistakes will always be dumb mistakes, unless . . . . you learn from it, and then it will be learning experience.
Re: wood adhesive
Got a dozen more 8-ounce bottles of Elmer's at National in Greenbelt 1. They had a whole shelf-full. There's more there in case anyone's interested.
I figure Elmer's wood be good for my indoor furniture projects. For outdoor waterproofed stuff, I can always use my epoxy resin.

Wow Ninong Ding...ikaw an ang favorite Ninong ko ha! :thanks:
I guess your expoy resin would be your best bet for outdoor projects. You already have the better formula, no need to downgrade.

Re: wood adhesive
For the woodworkers, here's an additional info regarding your famous Elmer's Carpenters Glue, you can buy them also at all DIY shop stores near you, if you are in that shop, check out the cashier's booth, items are on display just around the shelves, but its the 8 oz plastic bottles only.
Talked to the sales reps and they said they have boxes of them in their stock room, and so with other branches. Guys that's another source where you can buy your wood glues, go go go, ma makyaw na kayo habang marami pa !!!!!! :banana2::banana1::barmy::groupwave:

Re: wood adhesive
Thanks, Rosy.
But don't go to DIY in Eastwood. People there I spoke with don't even know what this glue is.
Re: wood adhesive
@ balarila, joey81, Armand and others in the area,
I know you guys live in that vicinity, so guys there's a DIY Shop besides Anson's Appliances sa may Q PLAZA and another one at the ground floor of EVER Gotesco along Ortigas Ave ext.
Well Ding most if not all, their sales reps have no idea of what they are selling 😮 like for instance I was asking for a possible larger container of the glue and gladly led me to a shelf and gave me a 1 liter can of LOL, Pioneer plastic resin wood glue and another one a gallon of Stikwel wood parquet flooring glue, wow hanep mga engot talaga, sad to say 🙁 .
HMMMMM, for them I think as long as there is a glue word on the product label , eh pare pareho na rin mga yon !!! 😀

Re: wood adhesive
I was wondering that as well. Wala na yatang Elmer's carpenter glue, so I picked up 2 bottles of pioneer white glue. Works ok, but it has a longer open time than that I am used to. I don't think it's as strong as Elmer's too.

Hi Rosy, if you notice, any PVA or PVAC glue based products have similar traits. the only difference they have is the application purpose of w/c each specific brand was designed for. Elmer's and the rest have specific characteristics that are tuned for wood to wood application. Parquet glue is an extended application product designed to bond wood to wood and concrete. I also have a PVAC glue that adheres wood to concrete, metal and wood. Depending on the curing formula, you may notice that Stikwel reverts to it's soft form when it is exposed to water even if it was previously cured. In my experience w/ wood adhesives I have learned not just to choose the right formula but to formulate a wide application base as well. I also have recent developments w/ epoxy resins. If you need guidance I'd be more than glad to help you. Regards kaibigan Rosy.:)
